MAC Tip of the Month: Remove Attachments

Since we are cleaning ‘house’ this month, let’s not forget about our computer.

The attachments you receive in email or in the outgoing messages in your Sent mailbox, can chew up a lot of disk space. Did you know that Mail can remove attachments from stored messages. Important to note: if you have already saved a copy of the attachments elsewhere, using this feature is a good idea.

Locate one or more messages with attachments and choose Message – remove attachments.

Removing attachments only removes the attachment from the message and will leave the original text intact. So, you won’t lose any text in the process and all of your e-mails will still be indexed by Spotlight.
