Dropbox is software that syncs your files online and across computers – an ideal tool for virtual teams. It’s easy to install and works on PC, MAC and Linux.  After installing Dropbox, there is a folder placed in your My Documents named “My Dropbox”. Then all you need to do is put your files into your Dropbox on one computer and they’ll be instantly available on any of your other computers that you’ve installed Dropbox on. I have been using Dropbox for about 2 months now and I can’t tell you how easy it was to set up and how easy it is to use. I have tried many other file sharing sites over the years but Dropbox is by far the best one I have used.

My Favorite Things: Dymo LabelWriter

The Dymo LabelWriter is another one of my favorite office tools. If you find yourself either handwriting envelopes or printing out one label at a time on a full sheet of labels making sure you typed in the right space, then the Dymo LabelWriter Printer is for you. There are a two models, the Dymo LabelWriter Turbo 400 and the LabelWriter Twin Turbo. The difference is the Dymo LabelWriter Turbo 400 holds one spool of labels where the LabelWriter Twin Dymo holds two spools which is perfect if you have a stamps.com account. You can have one side use regular size labels and the other size using the label approved by stamps.com.

The LabelWriter is ideal for creating labels for envelopes, packages, file folders, barcodes, and even postage stamps. The printer is connected to your computer via USB and prints directly from most office-oriented programs, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, WordPerfect, ACT! and more. I thought that, from time to time, I would share with you some of my favorite office supplies. Okay, so maybe they’re not the caliber of favorite things that Oprah shares with her viewers, but hopefully, my favorite things will make your work life a bit easier.

One favorite that I would like to share with you is the Pendaflex PileSmart QuickView Jackets by Esselte. These jackets are very similar to sheet protectors, but they open from the top and side and can store up to 150 sheets of paper. They are color-coded and there is a bottom tab for either writing or affixing a label to identify the jacket.

The reason why I love these so much is because they clear the clutter of paper off my desk and organizes it into a neat pile. They also keep all papers related to a particular project in one place.

I have a jacket for each of my clients with projects that are pending and one for my own projects, such as marketing, Website updates, etc. It’s just a great feeling when to walk into your office each morning and see an uncluttered desk.
